Hike for mental health with Coastrek 2025
Beyond Blue is proud to partner with Wild Women On Top for Coastrek, Australia’s iconic team hiking challenge!
Coastrek is a team hiking challenge focused on fun, fitness, friends, fresh air and fundraising!
Each year, around 10,000 trekkers hike more than 260,000 kilometres across iconic coastlines near Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Brisbane and Margaret River.
Coastrek offers the ultimate outdoor adventure with a purpose - connecting in nature and hiking for mental health while raising money to help fund the Beyond Blue 24/7 Support Service.
Benefits of hiking and mental health
Keeping active and spending time in nature are proven ways to manage stress and increase mood. Add connecting with others over a shared sense of purpose to the mix, and Coastrek provides the perfect platform for maintaining good mental health.
Supporting each other as a team while training for your 20km, 30-35km or 50km hiking challenge is a powerful way to strengthen relationships and improve mental health.
Coastrek also establishes a positive connection with exercise and fitness, forming healthy habits that benefit trekkers way beyond the finish line.
Your impact
Trekkers are encouraged to raise funds in support of Beyond Blue’s 24/7 support service.
The Beyond Blue Support Service provides free phone and online counselling from a compassionate team of mental health professionals.
More than 800 people reach out to the Beyond Blue Support Service every day. That’s over 290,000 life-changing conversations every year. The funds you raise will help make sure every call is answered.
Every step you take with Coastrek can make a real impact on your own mental health and will help ensure support is there when needed for those you love and everyone in Australia.
