What is the link between financial wellbeing and mental health?

Financial pressure and mental health issues are two sides of the same coin. Money worries can cause our mental health to get worse and vice versa.

When we feel confident and in control of our finances, it supports our overall wellbeing and resilience. On the other hand, financial stress can take a major toll on our mental health.

Financial stress can lead to anxiety, depression, and other mental health impacts. Poor mental health can then make it harder to manage finances effectively, leading to further financial problems. It's a spiral that can be difficult to break out of without support.
